Just for fun, and maybe this will spur ideas and possibly lead somewhere..  OR maybe it will be a dud..  But take a guess and I will do the experiment..

The primary coil is YELLOW and does not change...  the output coil is GREEN..  Both are AIR CORE..

Situation #1

Output coil is INSIDE the primary coil.

Situation #2

Output coil is OUTSIDE the primary coil.

Will the output wave FLIP 180 degrees between the 2 setups?

My prediction..  :  I am leaning towards YES..  If proven, I am thinking of several experiments to leverage this to deal with Lenz, or mutual EMF.

Post your guess, and I will setup the experiment later today

I tend to agree, and I'm interested to see why. What would be cool is a pick-up coil between inside and outside coils, which are being pulsed at different rates.

As I see it (before the experiment begins)
  • Inside the coil,  the North is Directed UP.
  • Outside the coil, the North is Directed DOWN

So I predict if a coil was on the Inside, it would sense the opposite direction of magnetism as compared as the coil on the outside.

I will update later today

I couldn't wait till we get more opinions so I did a little test..

Realize this setup is not the exact same as I posted,  but we can most likely gather the results will be the same.

Obviously the induction is much greater in the center than on the outside.  But this effect brings up many possibilities to explore

i predict no. its not a matter of N up in the coil and N down out of the primary coil. its the polarity of the expansion vs orientation of the pickup winding to the primary winding. with the pickup inside the primary, the feild expannds into the 'outer' side of the pickup coil, and with pickup coil outside of the primary, the field expands into the 'inner' side of the pickup coil.
