Science used for the good of pizza

The ‘Green Box’ is really a standard corrugated pizza box with a difference.  While typical pizza boxes are currently manufactured from 60% recycled material, the ‘Green Box’ breaks down easily into convenient serving plates, eliminating the need for environmentally unfriendly disposable serving plates.  The remainder of the box converts easily into a handy storage container for leftovers, eliminating the need for cumbersome and environmentally unfriendly plastic wrap, aluminum foil or plastic bags to store the left over pizza in the refrigerator.   

E.C.O. Incorporated, makers of this product, call it the Green Box and it is made of 100% recycled corrugated cardboard. The simple genius of this pizza box is not so much what it is made from, but what it can be made into.  As you will see from the video, the pizza box top detaches and can be made easily into 4 serving platters.  Then the bottom of the box can be torn and folded into a smaller box for easy storage of pizza leftovers.  This is a capital idea because if you ever tried to store a full-size pizza box into your refrigerator, you know what a difficut task that can be.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true green box if the whole thing wasn’t able to be recycled again.  When all is said and done, throw the used cardboard into the recycling bin.
