EBay businesses are becoming a thing of the past. Once upon a time, the average person was able to quickly dropship their way to financial freedom by simply locating retailers that allow dropshipping and listing the products on eBay. But things took a turn for the worse in the last few years as more and more people jumped aboard and started saturating the market.

The eBay market is so bad these days that most times you can find cheaper prices on comparable products elsewhere. Whenever you are looking for new products on eBay, be sure to compare prices on other popular online stores such as Amazon.com and TigerDirect.com. More often than not you will find what you're looking for and it will cost you a few pennies less.

EBay is still good for locating used items at discount, but the chances of acquiring the exact product you are looking for is slim to none because any legit eBay auction (that offers good value for the price) is usually swamped with bids and the selling price is sky high. In the past few months, I have purchased several things off of eBay and was disappointed to later find out that I could have received the exact same product for much less money.

However, there still is money to be made on eBay if you manufacture your own products or have a direct link to a manufacturing company where you can get wholesale merchandise for cheap. Money can also be made on eBay if you are willing to shell out a good deal of cash upfront. If you have the money to spend, you can invest in bulk orders of products and then resell them on eBay individually for profit.

Selling used merchandise is also a good choice if you're planning on venturing into the eBay business, you can start by cleaning out your attic and garage and the list your findings for auction on eBay. But there will come a time when your attic and garages are wiped clean and you have to find other used stuff to sell. You can go to garage sales and flea markets on the weekends, visit your local Salvation Army stores, and a root through the daily newspapers which should provide you with a steady stream of sellable merchandise.

Whether you decide to sell new merchandise by buying in bulk or sell used merchandise that you scavenge for, it will take time and work to get anywhere with your business. If you sell new items that you purchased in bulk, you will be burdened with the ongoing hassels of packaging and shipping items as well as dealing with returns and exchanges. If you deal with used items, you have to always be on the lookout to get new merchandise at great prices.

It's a shame that the old dropshipping method became saturated because it was an easy way to make a good deal of cash very quickly. I am sure if you hunt around long enough you will run into a profitable dropshipping program, but it will only be a matter of time before the competition notices what you are doing and moves in.
