One source says Ratigan's contract expires on Wednesday and he's talking to other networks.  Others think that his battles with network producer Susan Krakower are the cause.

Dylan Ratigan quits Fast Money, the CNBC financial newtwork cable show he helped create on the CNBC network that hosts the show issued no reason for his leaving, but Melissa Lee his sometime replacement will be hosting Fast Money at least temporarily, the network said.

Inside the CNBC network, Ratigan was regarded as talented but "a handful," relates one source at the network.  Back in February Rick Santelli also of the CNBC network became an instant celebrity by claiming his 15 minutes of fame by engaging in his own "President Obama, are you listening?") rant about the administration's proposed housing bailout.  Mr. Santelli's sharp criticism centered on his view of the unfairness of Americans having to bailout "loser" homeowners.

Prior to the launch of Fast Money on June 21, 2006, Ratigan launched CNBC's "On the Money", a show that aired at 7:00 pm.  He hosted "On the Money" from October, 2005 to January 2007 when as replaced by "Kudlow & Company" in that time slot hosted by Larry Kudlow.

Before CNBC, Dylan Ratigan reported for Bloomberg Television where he worked as a business correspondent for the TV network as well as the Bloomberg News Service where he served as Global Managing Editor for Corporate Finance.
