Certain key aspects, if used correctly, can make a world of difference on an affiliate landing page. Bu utilizing these simple yet effective techniques, you can feel confident that your landing page will convert readers into sales.

A landing page should present the product you are trying to sell while touching on the readers emotions. When these two keys are in place, your conversion ratio improvement will be the proof that your tweaks paid off. Always keep in mind that most readers come to your page with no intentions of purchasing products, but it is your job to convince them that they should buy it right now. Putting yourself in the shoes of the reader is one of the best ways to open the gates of affiliate commissions.

One good strategy is to lead your reader on an emotional roller coaster as they devour every last word your landing page says. The three main points a landing page should hit upon is create hope, create a sense of urgency, encourage fear, and offer them a solution. Lets take a look at these one by one.

Create Hope

Lets say you were promoting a diet ebook. You make a landing page that is going to soften up your readers and hopefully convince them to go to the merchant and buy the ebook. You need to create hope first thing. One good way to do this is to display success examples in the first few paragraphs. Maybe show some before and after pictures, some testimonials, and even a personal story. Your goal is to make the reader excited about the results and you should convince them that they can do it too.

Create A Sense Of Urgency

Most sales are lost because the reader forgot about the program and the sale was never closed. You can prevent this by creating a sense of urgency. The common reader (if interested) will put your page in his bookmarks and maybe come back to it later. But I know from experience, even though it's bookmarked, doesn't mean he will ever come back. Out of sight, out of mind. So your goal is to make the reader want to buy the product right away. Creating this sense of urgency can be difficult, but you have to find your angle. Focus on telling them about the lost grounds if they do not start right away. Make them feel like they need it now. Some websites resort to installing a fake countdown clock saying the offer will expire soon. Depending what kind of product you are promoting, this may not be the best option. But a sense of urgency should be inserted into all your landing pages regardless of the product offered.

Encourage Fear

This step can make all the difference if it is performed with finesse. There is most likely other competition that offers similar products, so you want to convince the reader that your offer is the best and he shouldn't waste his time searching for alternatives. The last thing you want to do is warm up a reader just to have him buy a competitors products and make someone else commission. This is why this step is vital for success. One good practice is to inform the reader that other products of this nature are not as effective and most other options will probably result in failure. If worded correctly, this method will ensure the reader buys from you and you will be rewarded.

Offer A Solution

This is your call to action. The reader now knows he can succeed with your affiliate offering, he wants to buy it now, and he knows other similar products are not as good. Now close the deal and and offer him the solution. He can buy your recommended product right now and see real results! Focus on the product benefits and how it can change his life for the better. Don't hard sell him, but instead have a prominent link pointing him to the vendors sales site.

Following this outline will certainly result in a better conversion rate for any landing page. This isn't the end-all solution, as many more aspects need to be in place such as eye appeal, pictures, video, audio, fonts, colors, etc. Don't worry, we will be providing you with all you need to know..
